Everything worth knowing before moving your domain to Mornin.

Do I need to transfer my domain to Mornin?
No. Keep your domain with your current registrar. You only need to add a few DNS records so Mornin can handle email for it. Your website records can stay as they are.
Can Mornin set up my DNS records automatically?
Yes. Automatic email setup is supported with IONOS, Cloudflare and Vercel. Connect your DNS provider and approve the changes. For supported domains, Domain Connect lets you authorize setup directly with your provider. If you use another provider or prefer to configure DNS yourself, Mornin gives you the records to add manually (see the setup guides).
Can I use Mornin with any domain provider?
In most cases, yes. If your provider lets you edit DNS records, you can use Mornin.
Is Mornin an email sending API?
No. Mornin is built for regular email: real mailboxes, inboxes and addresses on your own domain. If you’re looking for transactional or application email, services like Resend or Postmark are built for that.
Can I use Mornin for a personal domain?
Absolutely. Mornin works just as well for [email protected] as it does for a company domain.
What's the difference between a mailbox and an alias?
A mailbox is a full email account with its own inbox, storage and login. An alias is an additional address, such as hello@, that delivers mail to an existing mailbox.
Can I create aliases?
Yes. You can create multiple addresses and route them to the mailbox you want. Free includes 10 aliases, Indie 100 and Studio 500.
Can I receive email sent to addresses I haven’t created?
Yes, with catch-all. It’s included on the Indie and Studio plans.
Do you support SPF, DKIM and DMARC?
Yes. Mornin helps you configure the DNS records needed to authenticate your domain and improve email deliverability, and checks them over time.
Will my mail land in spam?
No provider can guarantee inbox placement. Mornin sets up SPF, DKIM and DMARC and checks your records over time. These help receiving servers verify your mail. Your message content and sending history also affect where it lands.
Can I use Mornin for a small team?
Yes. Create separate mailboxes and addresses as you need them. Mornin works for one person, multiple projects or a small team without forcing you into a large business suite.
Can I move over from Gmail or Google Workspace?
If you use your own domain with Google Workspace, you can keep your address when you switch. Updating the MX records sends new mail to Mornin. Existing messages stay with your old provider, so export them before closing that account. An @gmail.com address belongs to Google and cannot move to Mornin.
What happens to my mail if I cancel?
Your plan stays active until the end of the billing period. Export any mail you want to keep and update your DNS records before it ends. You can keep using your domain with another provider.
Where is my data stored, and is it backed up?
Mail and metadata are stored on European infrastructure. Mail is backed up daily to encrypted storage, and we test restoring those backups. We don’t show ads, build profiles from your mail or use your messages to train AI.
